Role and mission of the coach
The coach considers its client like its partner. Together they both
determine the objective, the frame word, and the expected results. The client
remains the sole responsible for his/her own objectives. In this way, he/she is
master of content.
The coach is an expert in the coaching process, and stays master of the
framework. The role of the coach, as partner demands that he/she be able to be
in a position to understand what’s at stake professionally and/or personally
for his/her client, without necessarily be an expert in the profession of
his/her client. I ask the good questions, and you find your answers.
The role of a coach is to:
·
Discover
and clarify what the customer wants to accomplish in order to establish a
contract (either verbally or written) based on measurable and dates objective, with
results.
·
Help the
client identify what motivates him/her and what are their strategies and
competencies
·
Demonstrates
to the client the range of options available.
·
Confront
the client on his/her commitments and issues, if that helps him/her.
·
Help the
client to reveal the range of options available
·
Helps the
client to produce his/her own solutions and strategies.
The coach pledges liability and warns the client when a dysfunction is
noticed. The
coach can put an end to the contract if he/she believes that it is not possible
to continue the coaching relationship.
